Pleopsidium chlorophanum
Origin: Saint André en Vivarais
Ardèche - France - Altitude: 1000m

This crustose lichen was subjected to the living conditions on Mars in a laboratory and was able to survive and even develop even better.
It is part of a program of the International Space Station, to use lichens as a source of hydrogen for the energy autonomy of space shuttles.
