Traveling exhibition on lichens
What is a lichen, how does it live, uses of lichen by man. Organic lichen indicator of clean air and healthy forests.
Of the 20,000 species that can be found in the world, 11,000 are present in France, which means that they can be observed everywhere, from the most arid deserts to coastal areas flooded by the tides.
This formidable symbiosis between a fungus and an algae makes lichen almost indestructible, except, for many species, to pollution caused by man.
Used in medicine for thousands of years, for food, in the manufacture of dyes, perfumes, and construction materials by birds, lichen is today at the heart of research into biofuels.
There are so many beautiful stories to tell about this organism that has been on earth for more than
600 million years.

This unique traveling exhibition in France, bringing together more than 400 species of lichens presented in situ, and educational kits on remarkable dye lichens (used by humans or animals), bio indicators of clean air and good forest health , is ideal for communities, municipalities or communities of municipalities, and schools.
Inauguration of the exhibition at the Mycélium Forum 2018 in Saint André en Vivarais, in the company of Marc André Selosse, researcher at the Museum of Natural History in Paris, author of the book "jamais seul", Hervé Coves, agricultural engineer at the Corrèze Chamber of Agriculture and author of numerous works and Ayda Khadhry, researcher at the Faculty of Sciences in Tunis.
