Bryoria fuscescens
Origin: Saint André en Vivarais
Ardèche - France - Altitude: 1100m

This fruticose lichen, more present at altitude, was transformed into paint to treat chalets against insects and fungi.
This paint was made with the ash collected after burning the lichen.
It was also used in mattress stuffing for its insecticidal, anti-bacterial, and anti-fungal properties.
